Highlight It!

Annotate like a reader. Use the TRACKS colors to mark the key evidence in a passage.
Purpose

Good readers interact with a source by annotating it. Students use a real highlighter with four colors to mark the evidence that matters, and name it with TRACKS.

How it works

Choose a grade and a level. Pick a color, then tap or drag across words to highlight them. Use the eraser to fix a mistake. Press Check to see which TRACKS category each piece of evidence belongs to and why. Stuck? The help button (or the H key) gives three small steps, one tap each: Remind me keeps full credit, Narrow it can earn up to 75 percent, and Size it up to 50 percent. Three stars need no help beyond Remind me.

The levels

Level 1: one sentence, one piece of evidence. Level 2: a short passage with one thing to find. Level 3: a full paragraph, many colors, and a review that shows the answer key.
